Rejoice what ever the view

God has made this day
Especially for you
To walk in freedom
Grace & mercy
Just because he loves you

Depending on your view
Determines what you see
Fluffy white clouds
Perfect blue skies
Or thunder clouds gathering

You might be looking down
From a mountain peak
Or looking at the hill
You still need to climb
While resting in the field

While walking by a spring
Do you think of jumping in
Splashing cares away
For there are no worries
When God is splashing with you

Even if your day is stormy
Your boat being bashed
Giant waves surround
But never swallow you
When God is by your side

So whatever your view
God is holding your hand
Dancing, singing, crying
Meeting you where you are
Why wouldn't you rejoice

God’s promises – brokenhearts healed

It is difficult in a world that feels cracked and fragile before it breaks but we have to have the joy, positivity & hope of #Godspromises

Even in heartbreak there has to be hope and compassion. We can’t let bitterness and lies take over. We need to look for joy and compassion, however hard and however much we do not want to.

Jesus
Our world feels broken
There is barely a person not grieving
Whether from the virus
Or what might of been
Broken relationships
Or what comes next

Jesus
You have to be our hope
There is no other person
That heals our hearts and wipes our tears
You are healing heartbroken hearts individually
Bringing unity to this nation

Jesus
Stir up in our hearts
Compassion hope and love
By your spirit
Bring your peace
Healing and forgiveness
Restoring all that feels lost
As the only person that can

A prayer for when our plans go skew-wiff.

2020 is far from what anyone planned. The rest of the year may not be what we hoped for either, but it has to be what we make it. The attitude and end result will be up to us.

If we can watch the COVID statistics and know a loved one is not there we are blessed. If loved ones who are suffering from other illness are still getting treatment we are thankful. If we have a job, roof over our head and food on the table we are rich.

Dear Jesus,
Our plans for 2020 may not be what we wanted or hoped for.
Some moments have been a little scary.
But as our rock Jesus we stand on you.
We trust the the plans you have for us are for our future.
You are our hope, our peace our joy.
Please bring comfort to the hurting,
Healing to the sick,
Shelter to the homeless,
Food and provision to the hungry.
Remind us that these times of a pandemic are only temporary,
Let us use the time to love and care for each other,
Just as you taught us.
We are not alone, your Holy Spirit is with us,
Protect the mental health of our nation as much as our physical health.
Let us realise these ruined plans of ours,
Are nothing compared to the blessings you have for us in the future.
So help us make the rest of 2020 joyful in our hearts even if it isn't the way we want it to be.
Amen.

Prayer for joy and peace when discouragement lingers.

One lone sparrow.

So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Matthew 10:31 NLT

I am feeling discouraged already. I desparately need the fruit of God’s joy and peace already. There is no real reason why. However I can not let this define my day and must stamp on this attitude now.

If you are feeling discouraged or disheartened today, pray for God’s peace and joy and see what happens.

Dear Jesus,
Thank you that you love me,
And that I am worth so much to you.
So much you died for me, taking my place so that I can live.
Discouragement is lingering,
Trying to seep into my bones,
My inner being and Spirit disturbed.
This is not what you want,
And I cannot let this define my day.
Please keep your armour on me and fill me with your peace.
Let this day be filled with testimonies of your love,
Laughter and pure joy.
I don't know what my day holds,
But one thing I know is that
Jesus, you will not leave my side.
So through you spirit today.
Keep me on your narrow path
Radiating your light to all that I pass.
Amen

A prayer not to just make it through Monday.

I constantly seem to wish my life away to the weekend. Monday I normally label “make it through Monday”. But life shouldn’t be about making it through the day. It should be about living, embracing life and dropping the labels. My Monday today isn’t defined by making it through the day.

Dear Jesus,
I have already woken up feeling like I just need to make it through Monday.
This is not right and I don't want to wish my life away.
The news is doom and gloom,
My energy levels low.
Before my day starts, let me take rest in you.
Restore me,renew me, refresh me.
Bless me with joy,
Give me energy, passion,
And a heart for you.
Let my day be led by you.
Help me to share your love today,
Spread your joy and enjoy my day.
Work,play and family time,
Let it all be to glorify you.
Amen.

Don’t let autumn steal your joy.

Whatever normal is, it still isn’t here. Stuck in a pandemic with a new season approaching. COVID has made the year go fast and it won’t stop the year changing seasons. So for people like me who love summer and can feel it slipping away here is a poem to help us cling to joy.

It's only late summer,
August not quite ended.
So why am I letting it bother me so?
Stealing my joy with autumn pending.

The nights are getting longer,
The daylight hours shorter.
Counting down to the shortest day,
Instead of making the most of the sun,
And all the fun it brings.

Leaves are turning golden brown,
And falling all around.
The summer heat fading fast,
Faithful when in need.

There is no reason I should feel this way,
Doom and depression,
try seeping into cracks.

Seasons come and seasons go,
But my God remains the same.
So faithful,providing joy,
My strength,my hope,my all.

Whatever the season,
Jesus fill me with your joy.
Let the dark fade to dust,
And light shine all around.

Let the reds, golds and browns of autumn leaves sparkle,
Let them crack and snap as we snuggle and jump on them.

May the crisp air bring the stars,
Lights leading us home,
As we countdown to Christmas,
Celebrating your birth.

Summer,autumn,spring And winter,
Jesus your our only king,
With us every day, helping us find the way,
And providing limitless joy.

Your still my God

Your still my God,
You never change.
You bring me peace in the chaos,
Your strength is my joy.
You wipe my every tear.

You are my God,
Anytime of the day,
Day and night you never leave.

You love me so much,
You sent your Son,
To take my place
And fight my battles.

I am not alone your Spirit guides me,
In the pain, in the fun your always with me.

You love is limitless,
Your patience abounding.
Sharing all my ups and downs.

The world may feel like it's losing control,
But in my life your always be in control,
You are still my God and will always be.

Prayer – hope in what seems hopeless

Life seems cheap at the moment. There is coronavirus, racism and now explosions. Unemployment is rising, people are still being expolited and there seems little joy in this world.

Dear Jesus
You are our hope.
You are our hope when all seems hopeless.
Your name is power and freedom,
Let people turn there eyes to you.

We pray for strength for all emergency service workers today.
Comfort the broken hearted,
Heal the sick and injured,
Bring peace to the angry,
Forgiveness to the bitter.

Your name is power and nothing is impossible for you Jesus.
Show the world your impossibleness today and let all the glory go to you.

Amen

Prayer for joy.

Dear Jesus,
You are my rock,
My king, my heart.
You have my attention.

Please bless my day with hope and joy.
May peace flow and mercy reign in my being today.

Let work be peaceful and protect my mind and tongue.
May my words be kind, encouraging and bring your joy to all around me.

In a virtual world let me spread your joy faster than my broadband speed.

In this pandemic you are my hope.
Let me find joy in the news and hope for a cure.
Please Lord Jesus, let this virus flee at your command.
Let the doubters stand in disbelief by all your about to do.
Let your joy surround the earth and all the praise go to you.

Amen

A walk to refresh our views.

Petworth, Sussex, July 2020

A weary soul in need of rest
A walk with God in the countryside
A short drive to the south downs
To walk and take in nature.

Our walk around Petworth
Starts inside the town
Historic and dramatic,
The walls of the estate,
proudly standing tall.

Into the country we go,
The rolling hills and woodland,
Breathing in the beauty,
Resting in the woodland shade.

The thing about nature,
Is you cannot compare yourself to it,
There is no jealously from flower to flower.
You accept the individuality,
And find the beauty within.

With nature there is no black and white,
No discrimination but lots of diversity,
You accept each flower, tree and animal,
Not ovethinking,
Purpose and individuality.

Sometimes our souls
Just need to be refreshed,
And we need to look at others like we look at nature.
No judging just accepting
And let God do his thing
By his Holy Spirit,
Let us be creative
So we can accept indivuality
And blossom and bloom like nature.

“In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.”
