Time
Tick tock
On the clock
What are we doing today
Are we wasting time
Making the most of time
With all the chores to be done
Are we spending our time wisely
Or wasting it away
Daydreaming
Wondering what could of been
Not moving on
Are we wishing for a better time
Expecting perfect
Normality again
Not living in the now
Counting all our blessings
Do we take the time
In person or virtually
To see loved ones
Or visit them
Whatever the sign of the times
Will we seize the moment today
Not taking time for granted
Making the most of our time
Secular or spiritually
Putting Christ before everything.
The last line of your lovely poem got me thinking (and I enjoyed the music!)
Sure, Christ, I’ve got time for you,
so, please, do not look so nervous;
I said I did, and I’ll come through
at the Sunday morning service.
We can chat while I am there
(though I might dream of my MG);
please, Christ, do not tear your hair;
I’m here for You, don’t you see?
But surely you do not expect
some other hours through the week?
I’ve really got to genuflect
to life’s needs, and I must seek
to find a balanced sanity,
a comfortable Christianity.
