What are you grieving today?

It’s a simple question. One we ignore or overthink.

Are you grieving a loved one. There is a lot of loved ones sadly gone this year.

Are you grieving a loss of a job

Are you grieving not seeing family and friends

Or the promotion you never got. A job lost. Money that is no longer there to feed your family.

A past you want to forget or even want back.

Or maybe your just grieving the normal that no longer exists the whole world round.

Remember what ever you are grieving. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Even when we do not feel it, God is the God that stays with us and never leaves us. Just because we can’t feel it doesn’t stop this being true.

Have a truly blessed weekend all

  2. Loretta, I messed up, and managed to insert two copies of the sonnet I wrote as comment to your lovely post.

Here’s what it should have looked like…

If we do not know what we’ve lost,
    we can’t know what we’ve gained;
if we fail to count the cost,
    the ledger can’t be changed
    to reflect the profit that
    comes from lessons learned
    when our comort’s cloying fat
    is cut away and burned.
And in this teaching, we will rise
to take our place, and not to hide
from our from our older, sadder eyes,
but to take them in our stride,
and hold our former selves to heart
as on this knowing’s path we start.
