Your mercy meets me at the foot of the cross.
I didn’t even need to ask.
You wipe my tears and hold me close.
You bring me rest and take my hand.
You gently and tenderly say
“I love you my child
It was my pleasure
I do not want to see you die.
I have conquered death and fought for you
The victory is mine for you alone.
So walk with me and talk to me.
Laugh with me and cry with me.
Accept that I do this for you because you cannot complete this task of staying pure and free from sin.”
I look at my Saviour. All dressed in white. Thankful in my heart.
I know I don’t deserve this gift.
For pure mercy is this gift.
A gift from God up above who loves and knows me so.
Nothing in return is needed. No debt is there to pay. Freely given, undeserved God’s mercy is there for everyone to see.
